New Boat!

Duff decided he wanted a new boat that was better for wake-boarding, surfing, etc. We found this Calabria for a good deal. It's a little flashy for me, but Kace and Duff love it. We went boating on Friday and Saturday at Deer Creek. On Friday night, Duff, Casey, Lindsay, Kyle, McCall, Mom & Dad went boating. Duff drenched Mom & Dad while learning how to drive the new boat over waves. Oops! Saturday we took Brady & Angie, Marissa & Ken's kids (Gaige, Jackson & Kelli) with us to the Lake. Marissa & Ken joined us later. It was fun. Jackson(age 6) tried wake-boarding and surfed with Duff for the first time. Ken, Marissa, Angie, Kace, Duff & Brady both tried out the surfing too! It will be a great boat. It seats a lot more people than our last one. I forgot the camera while we were at the lake, but these are of the boat.

Happy 11th Birthday Kace!

Kace turned 11 this week! Time sure flies! He's getting so grown-up. It's fun to watch how his interests change and how fast he's growing. He spent 1/2 his birthday at Math Camp and then we took him and Brady to dinner at Claim Jumper for their birthdays. He got an i-pod, bmx bike, quarter collection book, camping equipment, etc.

We love you Kace!

Most of all thanks for putting up with me. Thanks for being a great grandpa and spending time with my kids! Thank you for teaching me the value of Family! Love you!

Happy Father's Day Bob! Thanks for teaching Duff how to work and how to have fun! I know his work ethic comes straight from you and I know it will pass on down to my kids. Thanks for all you do for our family. We love you!

Kassidy's 8th Birthday

Kassidy turned 8 on Sunday, June 8th. I can't believe my baby's 8! We had a pizza & cake family party on Friday because we'd be in Lake Powell for her birthday. Thanks to everyone who came. It makde her feel really special. She loved her gifts and loved being with her family. She will be getting baptized into our church on July 5th. She is really excited to become a member. We love you Kassidy! You are a spunky little thing that will try almost anything, yet you are one of the most kind hearted, loving kids I know. Thanks for being my kid!

Lake Powell

We just returned from another great trip to Lake Powell! It is a family favorite!! Here's a FEW of the pictures. Tracie, Dave & Taylor, Brady & Angie, Casey & Lindsay, Carrie & Shane, and Cade (Kace's friend) all went with us. Kassidy celebrated her birthday down there with cupcakes and making sure everyone was being nice to her because it was her birthday. The kids caught many, many lizards. Kassidy nicknamed her's Lizzy. She was sure it really wanted to stay with her. Even a blow snake on the last day. Kace & Cade decided they wanted to get away from us so they kayaked over to thier own little island, pitched a tent, started them a fire and spent the night there by themselves. The days were warm, the nights cool and the water a bit nippy, but what more could we ask for. Thanks to everyone for there help and making the trip another great one!

1st week of Summer Vacation

This has been a crazy week! School's been out for a week and we've all gone crazy! Monday, Memorial Day, we had a family bar-b-q at Grandma Helen's in Wallsburg with Uncle Carl's family and Connie & Jon's family, and all of the siblings that were around. It was a lot of fun. Kace has been busy with his lawn mowing business. He has four lawns that keep him busy. Kace has also been helping Mountain Valley move their shop. It's good to have him staying busy now that school's out. Kassidy's been riding bikes, chasing and catching butterflies and grasshoppers and any other active thing she can find to do. She never sits still except for Wedensday when she didn't feel good and then she just layed around and slept and was as quite as a mouse (Yes really, amazing isn't it!) She's the best sick child. I had the flu on Friday and was out of it, except for having to take Kassidy and her friend to the carnival because I'd promised. Even watching the spinning rides is not fun when you're sick. Fathers and Sons on Friday night were Duff nailed Kace with a water balloon in the stomach leaving a big welt. Duff actually felt bad, saying that was the only throw he ever threw that hit dead on. Knocked the breath right out of Kace. The whole bishopric actually commented on Duff's abuse on Sunday at church. We've spent the two weeks digging up the side yard grass, that we just layed last fall, and bringing in dirt and now working on spreading bark everywhere. Slowly, but surely the yard is getting there. It seems like there is always something to work on, but I can't complain, I love it, but my body is not so sure.

I think we're all a little worn out from the crazy first week of summer. 11pm bedtimes, rolling out of bed at 10am, what the heck! Hopefully we'll get on a scedule this week. Happy Days!
