Spring Break Caribbean Cruise

Our family went on a 7 day Caribbean Cruise. We went with Gina & kids, Kimball & Becky Taylor & Family, Todd & Kris Kirkham & Family. We had a GREAT time! We flew from Salt Lake City to San Juan, Puerto Rico with a lay over in Atlanta. We left at 12:30am Sunday morning. The kids were so excited. They did really well on the plane but only got about 3-4 hours of sleep, Dad got around 4 hours and Mom got about 1/2 hour. I have a hard time sleeping anywhere but in bed. Needless to say we were pretty tired that night. We arrived in Puerto Rico around 12:00pm. We went straight to the ship and we were able to get on and have some lunch. We also spent a couple hours trying to straighten out the mix-up between Duff and Kurt's cards. Kace and Kassidy's were a little mixed up to. Kace had Robert's name and Kassidy's picture. We did finally get it straightened out. We went to bed and slept for 12 hours that night.

1st Day-St. Thomas
We got off the boat at St. Thomas and headed over to the market area. Kassidy got her hair braided half way and Kace found a cool necklace. The rain started right when we got to the market and we got really wet. Luckily, it was a warm rain. We ended up sending the kids back to the boat with their cousins. Duff made sure they got back on and then he went back to find Gina & I, but never did. I spent a couple hours shopping with Gina. It rained all day so we were really soaked when we got back to the boat.

2nd Day-Dominica
I think this was one of my favorite islands. It was so lush, green and had beautiful mountains. We all went on a tour of the island. The first stop was to Trafalga Falls. We hiked up and went wading in the river. It was beautiful. The kids found some crabs do play with. Then on to Sulfur Spring. Well, it smelled like sulfur and not that interesting. Then we drove through the Batanical Gardens and went back to the ship.

3rd Day-Barbados
We set up a tour to go swimming with the turtles and snorkel over a ship wreck. The turtles were cool. They were huge. Kassidy got in the water and then freaked out. She was so scared that sharks were there that we had to put her back in the boat. The rest of us got to see the turtles. The shipwreck was pretty cool too. After that we played at the beach and then headed back to the boat.

4th Day-St. Lucia
Our family did a drive through the island and saw where Dr. Doolittle was filmed and Kace and Kassidy were given a mango and a fish made from a leaf by a guy smoking weed. We tasted Banana ketsup and saw a banana plantaion. We went t a beach were we played in the water and went snorkeling. We saw lots of fish, a big star fish, a a fish with wings. Kace saw his first topless woman. He was embarassed. The fruit man in a wooden boat with flags sold fruit along the shore.

5th Day-Antigua
Our family went on another island viewing tour that took too long. We went to see the devils bridge which is a natural limestone bridge that is on the sea shore. We got to hear the devil breath too. Then we went to Long Beach where we spent a couple hours snorkeling and swimming. We could go out quite aways and snorkel. Kassidy got her whole head braided! I got mine half way done, but ended up taking it out because it hurt my head. It was fun. This island was not my favorite. It was a little dry.

6th Day-St. Kitts
Last island! Duff went fishing out to sea! The kids and I, Gina and her kids went to the beach. This beach was black sand. The current and waves were strong so the kids let the waves crash onto them. The girls spent most of the time hunting for the best sea shells. They were everywhere. Back to the boat for swimming and sun tanning.

We returned to Puerto Rico and left the ship. We had a great time. Kassidy Karaoked! Kace danced! We had ice cream, ice cream, ice cream, ice cream and more ice cream! We played in the pools and went down the big water slide. The kids danced with our waiter and had a great time. Thanks to Brady & Angie and Mom & Dad for tending the animals.
